Wrestling Grandsons.....

Yesterday we had the chance to go and see Triston and Jackson participate in their new sport. I have seen hundreds of basketball games and football games and I can tell you what's going on in them but I don't know Jack about this sport.....I was a little hesitant but it turned out to be pretty exciting but I have to say I was disturbed when I saw Triston get his arm twisted and he also told us the kid choked him! They did so well and tried so hard and were so quick and I think they enjoyed it even though they both lost their matches. The boys that they are wrestling have more experience on pinning down so as soon as Jackson and Triston have a few more matches under their belt - Watch out...

Jackson listening to the coach who happen to be young men that Michael went to school with that wrestled volunteering their time to coach.

Squaring up?

Is Jackson smiling??

Love the expression on the other kids face....

Last minute tips from coach.....

You can see by Tristons face he is really putting his all into this...

Getting consoled from dad and mom was also their to give him a hug and comfort....

Can't wait til the next meet! My little sweet Grandmother Robbins loved to watch wrestling on TV - I think she would really love this....

We went to the farm in Tennessee last week and while there I was playing around with my camera and trying to catch a good photo of flowers to put in a photo contest. This is one of my attempts at creativity. I get really disappointed and sometimes discouraged at my photos especially when I see some of the awesome entries. I've decided though that a good photo is in the eyes of the beholder. There are so many different opinions on how or what looks good or artistic. I'll just keep on keeping on keepin on and if I like it that's good enough for me. (but I would like to win a flipping contest!!)

I just put this one in because I want one of these!!

I thought this turned out pretty........

Photoshop discoveries....

Three buddies before.....
Since I bought my nice new camera I've been paying a lot of attention to pictures that people take and put on the internet on their blogs and I love to look at Flicker. I've oftened noticed that my pictures just don't pop like some do. I know I have a good camera - is it something I'm doing wrong? I've discovered that most pictures entered in contest or even just posted on blogs have been photoshopped....I'm just now learning the art (my camera is hard enough to figure out) but I have been playing around trying to sharpen colors and make them stand out a bit.....

After using PW Boost......

Before,

Boosted,

Before, pretty enough...

After....The greens are richer and the color of the flower is a bit more colorful...I really like more of a natural shot but it seems that whatever is in print or on the computer goes through an enhancement. I think there is definetly an art in making the picture better but not to look fake. I'm having fun working on a new form of art.

Miracles do happen.....

Saturday evening I was sitting in the living room reading and my hungry for munchies husband who I could hear rummaging through the kitchen cupboards looking for something sweet poked his head around the corner and said "I really could go for some Tollhouse Chocolate Chip cookies" which interpreted means: (You haven't made those in a long time and could you?) I said: "There's a recipe on the back of the bag." What happened next had to be recorded because anybody who knows him would not believe me unless they saw some proof - especially his kids! He thought about my response for a second and I as I peered over my reading glasses I saw a little light go off in his head....He realized - Hey maybe I can do this.....I'm thinking - no way - He doesn't even know where the mixing bowls are or the flour or the measuring spoons or most anything else that goes in that cookie recipe..... So I got out my camera:)

And this is where it all started........

"Hey! That's not the way my Home Ec teacher Mrs. Jones taught me to measure flour!)

"OH- NO- HE- DIDN"T!"
yes, he did....

"Guess I should have not said...."Give me back my camera and clean up that flour you spilled on the rug!"

Salmonella warnings didn't work.....

The finished product! - which I have to say that they are some of the best Tollhouse cookies I have ever eaten -
Is this the beginning of something new? A man in the kitchen cooking instead of looking?

Yummy!! - now off to the treadmill!!! (for about a 200 mile run!)
